About Me...

Hi, I’m Amy-Jane Taylor, a fully qualified dog trainer and proud member of the Institute of Modern Dog Training (IMDT). My journey into dog training began over three years ago, thanks to my beloved black miniature poodle, Sophie. She sparked my passion for dogs and inspired my career in professional dog training.

I began my hands-on experience volunteering as an assistant at a local IMDT-accredited dog training company. Over time, I progressed from Assistant to Instructor — leading group classes, one-to-one sessions, and supporting workshops. In February 2024, after two years of study and practical experience, I officially became an IMDT Qualified Dog Trainer, making me one of the youngest certified trainers in the UK.

That same year, I also became an Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor (EPPI) through the IMDT. The course was led by Steve Mann, founder of the IMDT and author of the UK’s No.1 dog training book Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy (buy it here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Peasy-Puppy-Squeezy-step-step/dp/1788701607). I also completed the Level 3 Learning Theory, Motivation and Reinforcement course (with a score of 89%), which deepened my understanding of canine behaviour, breed-specific traits, and ethical, force-free behaviour modification.
