About Me...

Hi, I’m head trainer Amy-Jane Taylor. My passion is dogs, I’ve been training and studying about them for around 3 years. I have a black miniature poodle called Sophie who made me fall in love with dogs and kick started my whole dog training career!

I started work as a volunteer assistant at a local IMDT dog training company and progressed on to become a member of the team, first as an Assistant and then as an Instructor (teaching classes, one to ones and assisting with workshops). After two years training and studying, in February 2024, I became a fully qualified dog trainer, accredited by the Institute of Modern Dog Training (IMDT). I am one of the youngest qualified dog trainers in the Country. In the same year I also qualified as an Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor (EPPI) through the IMDT. The course was delivered by Steve Mann who is the founder of IMDT and Author of the book “Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy” (Link to buy: Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy: The UK's No.1 Dog Training Book:) and many more. I also passed my Level 3 Learning Theory, Motivation and Reinforcement course (with an overall score of 89%) which delves deeper into understanding breeds and their innate traits, what motivates them and appropriate force free behaviour modification.

IMDT trainers follow a science based, force free approach to training. This means you are building the bond with your dog using positive reinforcement, rather than old fashioned and outdated punishment. I am proud to follow the IMDT’s code of ethics.

As an IMDT dog trainer we are required to complete regular CPD training. This guarantees I will always be up to date and expanding my training knowledge, keeping on top with the best and most modern scientific techniques.

I really hope to be working with you and your furry friend soon!

"We recently started using Amy for puppy training our 10 week old puppy! We have now been doing our sessions a couple of months and couldn't be happier with the outcome! Willow is our first puppy so the training was needed! Amy is so confident, friendly and welcoming! She is a little fountain of knowledge and has really helped not only Willow but us aswell! We can't wait to continue the training and see how Willow progresses! Thanks Amy!"
