Training Philosophy
Amy's Canine Coaching is a force-free, positive, science-based training environment. We do not use punishment, aversive methods, or equipment. The following items are not permitted in sessions: slip leads, choke chains, e-collars, or anything else the trainer deems unsafe.

Attendance & Safety

For the safety of yourself, your dog, and others:

• Puppies/dogs must wear a lead, harness, and collar, and be kept on a lead at all times unless instructed otherwise by the trainer.

• Keep your puppy/dog away from other dogs unless directed during the session for safety and trainability.

• Children 8 years and under are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times. They should not approach or touch any dogs without the owner’s permission and adult supervision. Amy's Canine Coaching accepts no liability for children; supervision remains the responsibility of the adult.

• Young persons under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

• Report any accidents or injuries to the trainer during the same session.

• Puppies/dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and treated for parasites. Owners are responsible for protecting their puppy/dog from disease. Do not bring a dog who has been in contact with unwell dogs (diarrhea, vomiting, coughing, etc.).

• Notify the trainer of any allergies or intolerances at the start of each session.

• Dogs in season may attend between days 1–9 and after day 18 of their cycle.

• Not all dogs are suitable for group sessions. If your dog reacts toward people or other dogs within 10 meters, contact us to arrange a safer environment.

One-to-One Sessions in Your Home:

• Please avoid using flour for 12 hours prior to the session for the trainer’s health and safety.

Puppy Class Specific Policies

• Puppy Age Requirement: Puppies must be under 6 months old at the start of the course unless previously agreed with the trainer.

• Non-Refundable Payments: All puppy course bookings are non-refundable once payment is made. Your place cannot be transferred or refunded.

• Catch-Up Sessions: If your puppy cannot attend a class due to vaccinations or other commitments, up to two 30-minute one-to-one catch-up sessions may be offered if the trainer is notified before the course begins.

• Children in Puppy Classes: Children are welcome but must remain supervised at all times unless previously agreed with the trainer.

Payment, Refunds & Cancellations

• Payment for one-to-one sessions must be made at least 72 hours before the session. Late payment may result in reallocation of your session.

• Payment for puppy classes must be made at the time of booking. Spaces will only be reserved once payment is received.

• Fees are non-refundable once payment is made.

• Group classes must be taken within six months of the original booking. One-to-one sessions must be taken within four months of the original booking.

• One-to-one sessions require 48 hours’ notice for cancellation or rebooking; otherwise, the session is forfeited.

• Sometimes class cancellations are unavoidable due to weather, illness, or unforeseen circumstances. Amy’s Canine Coaching reserves the right to change session dates, times, or venues. We will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from class changes or cancellations.

Marketing & Social Media

We may take photographs or videos during sessions for advertising, social media, or website use. Any feedback received may also be used for promotion. Please inform Amy’s Canine Coaching in writing if you do not wish to be included.

Amy’s Canine Coaching makes every effort to ensure safety during sessions. By booking, you accept that working with dogs, adults, and children carries inherent risk. You agree to assume all risks, injuries, or damages that may occur and indemnify Amy’s Canine Coaching against any claims arising from attendance.
